Renowned for its subversive Alpine-Punk-Couture aesthetic, Berlin-based Ottolinger is a collaboration between Swiss design duo Christa Bösch and Cosima Gadient. Having met during their studies at the Basel School of Design, the two quickly began making waves with their avant-garde and fearlessly destructive take on womenswear challenging the tradition notion of glamour and sex appeal, questioning what is considered flattering to a woman's physique.

Their punk approach to couture tailoring is refreshingly unorthodox including unique labor-intensive signatures techniques like holes burned by a blowtorch, cut and knotted fabric, shredding to create dramatically frayed fabrics, over-dying. The counterculture label has garnered a cult following for their asymmetric silhouettes, raw aesthetic and hands-on process of abstraction and deconstruction. The resulting re-assemblage represents an unlikely harmony between meticulous construction and punk-tinged rebellion although with a healthy dose of humor.

Bösch and Gadient's intuitive approach to deconstruction and reconstruction creates an aesthetic that gives a sense of tension and what unites and defines OTTOLINGER.
